Photocarrier transport in soluble poly(3-alkylthiophenes)(PATs) has been st
udied by means of time of flight method. Temperature and field dependencies
of mobility were measured for a number of polythiophene derivatives having
various alkyl chain lengths from butyl to octadecyl. It has been found tha
t regioregularity has a marked effect on hole mobility in PATs with shorter
alkyl group. The results of the mobility in PAT films are discussed in ter
ms of main chain regularity and, alkyl chain lengths.
