Abstract
In our laboratory we are exploring the scope of the sulphinyl precursor rou te by synthesising electron poor PPV-derivatives. These polymers can be cre ated by implanting electron-accepting groups on the phenyl ring of PPV (cya no or nitro) or by replacing this ring by an electron-withdrawing heteroaro mtic core like pyridine, bipyridine or quinoline. In this way we hope to ge t a deeper insight in the polymerisation process and we will be able to syn thesise new polymers that may find many applications in plastic electronics .
