Abstract
Polycationic polythiophenes with high conjugation length, conductivity, and solubility have been obtained by anodic coupling of 4-(4H-cyclopentadithie n-4-yl)ammonium perchlorates. One of these polymers can be reversibly reduc ed (n-doped) showing the characteristics of self-doped materials. The n-dop ing process is fast and does not show any dependence on the cation size.
