Abstract
The redox transformation process of different conducting polymers was studi ed by combined in situ (spectroelectrochemistry, EQCM and conductance) tech niques. The recently suggested modified mechanism of the charging/dischargi ng process for polythiophenes received further approval by studies on 3-met hylthiophene (PMT) co-polymers. The pattern of the change in the charge cap acity of the oxidized polypyrrole (Pqr) film suggests -like in case of poly thiophenes- the occurrence of the electric field induced phase transition. Thus, a common redox mechanism for the different polymers-distinguishing so lvated and non-solvated polymer segments- is assumed.
