Abstract
llPolyaniline (PANI), poly(o-toluidine) (POT) and poly(o-chloroaniline) (PO C) were treated with PdCl2, palladium (II) acetate and palladium (II) acety lacetonate in organic solvents. It was found that polymer-palladium interac tions involved predominantly a redox-type reaction which resulted in the pa rtial oxidation of the polymer chain with simultaneous reduction of some Pd 2(+) to Pd-0. In the systems studied PANI exhibited the strongest redox pro perties towards Pd2+ ions, POT weaker and POC the weakest ones.
