Abstract
We used the Z-scan technique to study for the first time the non-linear ref ractive index nl and the non-linear absorption coefficient B of a new poly( hetero-arylene-ethynylene) (DAME45) and a derivative with an added Ru2+-com plex (TP076). The measurements were performed with 130 fs pulses from an am plified Ti:sapphire system at 800 nm (DAME45) and 1200 nm (TP076) by the us e of an optical parametric amplifier. For DAME45 we got n(2) = -3.2x10(-13) cm(2)/W and beta = 4.5x10(-8) cm/W and for TP076 we received n(2) = 3.1x10 (-14) cm(2)/W and p = 1.2x109 cm/W.
