Ab. Dalton et al., Isomerism and inter-chain effects in a semi-conjugated co-polymer, poly(m-phenylenevinylene-co-2,5-dioctyloxy-p-phenylenevinylene), SYNTH METAL, 119(1-3), 2001, pp. 557-558
Through variation of the chemical route, a conjugated co-polymer has been p
repared in a predominantly cis-configuration and a predominantly trans conf
iguration respectively. Pump and probe Kerr ellipsometry is used to probe t
he behaviour of each in solution compared to a model trimer compound, The r
esults indicate that isomerism plays an important part in the excited state
dynamics of these materials in solution.
