Abstract
We present an experimental characterisation of cyano-substituted p-phenylen
e vinylene model compounds and polymers. The photophysics of these samples
in toluene solution are investigated using steady state and time-resolved p
hotoluminescence spectroscopy The influence of cyano and methoxy substituti
on on the energetics and the natural radiative lifetime are studied.
