Abstract
The interactions of metal ions with galactose and xylose have been inv estigated in the glassy state and in water solutions by comparing the diffuse internal reflectance, cylindrical internal reflectance and tra nsmittance spectra. The nature and amount of the metal ions induce cha nges in the C-C and C-O ring, as well as in the skeletal modes. (C) 19 97 Elsevier Science B.V.
