INFRARED-SPECTRA OF PROTIATED AND DEUTERATED LEAD(II) 2,2'-BIPYRIDINESACCHARINATO MONOHYDRATE

The infrared spectra of protiated and partially deuterated analogues o f the title compound were studied in the HOH, HOD, CO and SO2 stretchi ng region. The spectral characteristics of the HOH and HOD stretching fundamentals were correlated with the structural data for Pb(bpy)(sac) (2) . H2O where bpy denotes 2,2'-bipyridine and sac stands for a sacch arinato ion. The appearance of the CO and SO2 stretching regions in th e spectrum of the title compound was correlated with the number of non -equivalent carbonyl and sulphonyl groups in the structure.
