Abstract
Nearly 30 years ago, a debate over two disparate models of synaptic vesicle retrieval arose. Subsequent investigations to determine which model was co rrect proved inconclusive and served only to further the debate. However, r ecent evidence has begun to suggest that both models are valid and relevant in understanding the complex nature of vesicle recycling.
