Abstract
The technology of fabric filtration has made great progress in recent years and the majority of newly installed filter plants are fabric filters. The important advantage of a baghouse lies in its greater dust retention capabi lity compared with an electrostatic precipitator With the proposed scheme i t is possible to convert practically any electrostatic precipitator into a Pulse-Jet filter without demolishing the old electrostatic precipitator and without very long stoppage times for the upstream process. The conversion leads to lower emission values, improved flow conditions and a reduction in maintenance expenditure. A description is given of the basic concept of th e conversion and its implementation in a Brazilian cement works.
