Jrf. Arruda et al., DATA-COMPRESSION FOR THE MODAL-ANALYSIS OF SPATIALLY DENSE LASER-DOPPLER VIBROMETER MEASUREMENTS, Modal analysis, 11(3-4), 1996, pp. 194-203
This paper investigates a method which can be used to compress two-dim
ensional mobility shapes measured with scanning laser Doppler vibromet
ers. It is shown that the compressed data can be used as virtual measu
rements when estimating modal parameters. The data are compressed spat
ially using a two-dimensional Fourier series model. The approximation
reduces and filters the measured data in the output space for each fre
quency line. A Chebycheff polynomial modal parameter estimation method
is used to extract tile modal parameters. The proposed method makes p
hase-separation modal analysis viable when using spatially dense mobil
ity shapes.
