Abstract
We demonstrate a new method of electrical fixing of waveguiding channels in strontium-barium niobate. The method is applicable to both bulk material a nd planar SBN waveguides. Waveguiding is achieved for extraordinarily polar ized light. We suggest that the fixing is based on a partial depoling of th e crystal rather than on internal electric fields.
