Abstract
A new method for calculating a look-up table to linearise a sensor out put characteristic is presented. A least mean squares technique has be en used to calculate look-up table entries directly from sparse calibr ation data. The algorithm has been compared with classical algorithms in a mono-dimensional application. Simplicity, general applicability a nd reduction of the occupied memory space make it suitable for use in microcontroller-based systems which perform function approximation.
