Mixed aneurysmal and obstructive coronary artery disease causing acute myocardial infarction in a young woman with Takayasu's arteritis

Takayasu's disease is a chronic inflammatory pathology of the aorta and its main branches. The present report describes a rare presentation of the dis ease in a young woman who presented with anterior myocardial infarction, an d was subsequently found to have mixed aneurysmal and obstructive coronary artery disease involving the left anterior descending artery and its diagon al branches. Issues surrounding the management of coronary artery disease i n this patient are discussed.
