Abstract
Quartz is art abundant mineral in wind generated dust throughout the U nited States. Of the 18.9 million tons of particles smaller than 10 mu m (PM10) dust emitted into the atmosphere by the wind, a significant fraction is silica. Transport of some of this silica to populated area s is possible.
