Abstract
The article summarizes literature findings on Meerwein-Ponndorf-Verley oxid ations on heterogeneous catalysts, including amorphous metallic oxides and zeolites that exhibit surface basicity or Lewis acidity. Attention is prima rily focused on catalytic properties of high-silicate zeolites of beta -str ucrure based on alumosilicates and titanosilicates. The reaction mechanism and high cis stereoselectivity of the catalysts are discussed. The reaction s find use in the field of specialty chemicals.
