Abstract
A novel alcohothermal process has been successfully developed to prepare th e thermally stable tetragonal zirconia aerogel using a cheap inorganic salt as the starting material. The results showed that the as-prepared zirconia aerogel has a high surface area and a well-developed textural mesoporosity , which is highly attractive for potential applications in heterogeneous ca talysis.
