Seismic amplitude and rise-time in time domain are commonly used for obtain
ing the attenuation coefficient or the quality factor (Q value) of the unde
rground rock. Because of difficulty in measuring seismic source energy, we
developed a method of seismic neighboring traces attenuation tomography in
time domain that can remove the effect of source from calculating process.
We integrated the seismic velocity tomography, seismic amplitude attenuatio
n tomography, and rise-time attenuation tomography into a series procedure,
and applied it to field data obtained in a mine. The results prove that it
is a flexible, practicable, and reliable seismic tomographic method.
