Abstract
The title compound SmFe(CN)(6)(DMSO)(2).H2O was prepared by the reaction of SmCl3. 6H(2)O with K3Fe(CN)(6) in the mixed solvent of H2O/EtOH/DMSO. The crystal of the compound is monoclinic, space group P2/n, a = 7.759(1), b = 10.673(1), c = 11.014(2) Angstrom, beta = 97.106(2)degrees, V = 905.0(2) An gstrom (3), Z = 2, D-c = 1.969g/cm(3), F (000) = 520, R = 0.0474, wR = 0.09 25. The compound is cyano-bridged rare earth transition metallic complex. T he rare earth ion (Sm3+) is seven-coordinated with the conformation of pent agonal bipyramid. The structure of the compound can be described as a squar e brick stair-like layered structure, which stacks along b axis with hydrog en bond interaction between the layers to form 3D-network structure.
