We describe what is, to our knowledge, the first case of sporotrichoid lymp
hangitis caused solely by group A Streptococcus in an otherwise healthy pat
ient. Infection with pyogenic pathogens, such as streptococci and staphyloc
occi, as well as with the most common causes of sporotrichoid lymphangitis
(i.e., Sporothrix schenkii, Nocardia brasiliensis, Mycobacterium marinum, a
nd Leishmania species) should be considered in differential diagnosis for s
ome patients.
