Abstract
An extension of current scintillation stochastic models is described to exa mine the alteration of the scintillation amplitude distribution with the co ncurrent rain fade depth on earth-space paths. Descriptive statistical resu lts of 12.5GHz scintillation at two sites show that the long-term magnitude of tropospheric scintillation steadily increases with worsening rain atten uation.
