Abstract
Evaluation of the acute coronary syndrome extends beyond the traditional hi story and physical, electrocardiogram, and serum-cardiac enzymes. Noninvasi ve evaluation of the patient with suspected ischemic heart disease may incl ude echocardiography, nuclear scintigraphy, and exercise or chemical stress testing. The latter may be done in combination with echocardiographic or r adioisotope scanning. The benefits and limitations of the available tests a re discussed.
