We investigate very simple individual based models with movement, alignment
and attraction rules. They can be formulated as dimer or generalised cellu
lar automata. We distinguish decision and averaging models. In both classes
movement and alignment can be achieved quite easily. We could produce a sc
hooling-like behaviour with the combination of movement, alignment and attr
