Abstract
Sucralfate is a well-established drug in the therapy of gastric and duodena
l ulcers. Its adverse reactions are rare, where constipation is the most co
mmon side effect. Liver injury due to sucralfate has not been previously re
ported. We describe an elderly patient with significant liver injury accomp
anied with pruritus during treatment with sucralfate. (C) 2001 Elsevier Sci
