Abstract
Thyroglossal duct cyst usually presents as a painless swelling in the mid-l ine of the neck. This is the first documented case of an acute presentation of hoarseness and multi-loculated swelling. It also contrasts the limitati ons of ultrasonography with the accuracy of magnetic resonance imaging in s uch atypical swellings.
