Developing a networked VRML learning system for health science education in Taiwan

This study discusses applying virtual reality (VR) and Virtual Reality Mode ling Language (VRML) to promote health science education in Taiwan, It firs t describes the needs of health science education in Taiwan, and the advant ages of using computer technology in health science teaching and learning. A networked desktop VR-based system and courseware entitled "Travelling wit h Our Food" were developed for health science learning. The design of the c ourse, the development of the system (platform and software), and expert-ba sed and user-based evaluations are reported.
