Abstract
The coupling reaction of phenylcthynyltributyltin with (4-trifluoromet hyl)iodobenzene catalyzed by a Pd(O) complex coordinated by N-(2-diphc nylphosphinobenzylidcnc)-2-ph was found to start with oxidative additi on of the tin reagent to the Pd(O) complex. In contrast, the use of 1, 3-bis(diphenylphosphino)propane as the ligand switched the catalytic c ycle to the well-accepted one initiated by oxidative addition of the a ryl iodide to the Pd(O) complex.
