Abstract
The critical bruising thresholds varied among stone fruit cultivars. In gen eral, plums tolerated more physical abuse than yellow flesh peach and necta rine cultivars. Impact location on the fruit was an important factor in the determination of critical bruising thresholds. Potential sources of bruisi ng damage during fruit packing were located using an instrumental sphere (I S-100).
