Densities and viscosities for the binary mixtures of gamma -butyrolactone w
ith methyl formate, ethyl formate, methyl acetate, ethyl acetate, and aceto
nitrile have been determined over the whole mole fraction range of the mixt
ures at 298.15 K. From these measurements, the excess molar volumes (V-m(E)
) and viscosity deviations (Delta eta) were calculated. These results were
fitted to Redlich-Kister type polynomials. It is shown that the values of V
-m(E) and Delta eta are both negative over the entire composition range for
each binary system investigated. Results have been discussed briefly on th
e basis of molecular interactions in these mixtures.
