Abstract
Refractive indices (n) for {1,4-dioxane + 1-hexanol, 1-heptanol, 1-octanol, 1-nonanol, or 1-decanol} and surface tensions (sigma) for {1,4-dioxane + 1 -hexanol, 1-heptanol, 1-octanol, or 1-decanol} at the temperature 298.15 K and normal atmospheric pressure have been determined as a function of mole fractions. The experimental data have been used to calculate refractive ind ex and surface tension deviations (Deltan, Delta sigma), over the entire co mposition range. The results obtained have been discussed and interpreted i n terms of the type and nature of the specific intermolecular interactions between the components.
