Abstract
Careful reexamination of the published H-1 and C-13 NMR spectral data of aj
malimine (1), an indole alkaloid from the roots of Rauvolfia serpentina, in
dicates that, in reality, the compound is (+)-17R-O-(3',4',5'-trimethoxyben
zoyl) ajmaline (3).
