Abstract
The reversible metal insulator phase transition of VO2 (T-c = 68 degreesC) is associated with strong changes in electrical, magnetic and optical prope rties. Recently, nanopigments were synthesized using the low temperature ir reversible structural transformation of the metastable VO2(B). Thin films w ere deposited under radio-frequency sputtering conditions. The optical tran sparency is remarkably increased for these nanosized particles and thin fil ms. The VO2 transition is characterized in the mid-infrared (MIR) region, u sing transmittance, reflectance and normal integrated emissivity measuremen ts, Emissivity and reflectance are analyzed from two independent experiment al techniques.
