Abstract
Review of the data about the commitment and differentiation of early h aematopoietic progenitor cells and changes in the expression of surfac e antigens is presented. Phenotypic characteristic of different subpop ulation of CD34(+)CDw90(+) cells, early progenitors of granulocytes, m acrophages, erythroid and megakaryocytic cells (CFU-GEMM, CFU-GM, BFU- E, CFU-E, CFU-Meg etc.) is given. Possible cell targets for malignant transformation in leukemias are discussed.
