R. Lucking et al., Further records of foliicolous lichens and lichenicolous fungi from Australasia, with an updated checklist for continental Australia, LICHENOLOGI, 33, 2001, pp. 195-210
Based on collections gathered by H. Streimann and J. A. Elix in Papua New G
uinea, Australia (including Tasmania), and Vanuatu, five new foliicolous li
chen species are described: Calenia bullatinoides Lucking, Eremothecella cy
aneoides Lucking, Fellhanera tasmanica Lucking & Elix, Fellhaneropsis austr
aliana Lucking, and Porina vanuatuensis Lucking. In addition, the following
new combinations are proposed: Coenogonium isidiiferum (Lucking) Lucking [
Bas.: Dimerella isidiifera Liicking], Coenogonium lisowskii (Vezda) Liickin
g [Bas.: Dimerella queenslandica Kalb & Vezda], Coenogonium queenslandicum
(Kaib & Vezda) Liicking [Bas.: Dimerella queenslandica Kalb & Vezda], Echin
oplaca tetrapla (Zahlbr.) Liicking [Bas.: Gonolecania tetrapla Zahlbr.], an
d Porina subepiphylla var. australiensis (Lucking & Vezda) Liicking [Bas.:
Porina lucida var. australiensis Lucking & Vezda]. Coenogonium piliferum (V
ezda) Kalb & Liicking [Bas.: Dimerella pilifera Vezda] is placed into synon
ymy with Coenogonium epiphyllum Vain. An updated checklist of foliicolous l
ichens from Australia includes 202 species and excludes five previously rep
orted tars.
