Abstract
Magnetization and susceptibility measurements on the icosahedral RgMg4 2Zn50 compounds (R = Tb, Dy, Ho and Er) are presented. A magnetic tran sition occurs at rather low temperature, considering the large antifer romagnetic interactions present. Weak irreversible phenomena occur in the low-temperature phase. The nature of this latter is discussed in r elation with the giant geometrical frustration associated likely with the quasiperiodicity.
