Abstract
The sensitivities of minor elements analysis in a standard steel sample irr adiated with 5 MeV deuterons have been determined by the regular deuteron-i nduced gamma -ray emission (d-PICE) method and with the selection of the (d , n) reaction channel by measuring gamma -n coincidences. This approach has resulted in a significant improvement of the sensitivity of the analysis. A comparative study with the published results using protons as projectiles was also made.
