Abstract
In this paper we discuss the modifications induced in the brightness and ga in with the introduction of an auxiliary undulator to the off-axis field st ructures of a longitudinally polarised wiggler magnetic field. The auxiliar y undulator along with the betatron oscillations of the longitudinal wiggle r provides an additional ponderomotive force, causes further electron bunch ing and thereby improves the gain.
