A four-parameter analytic form for the radial distribution function g(r) fo
r amorphous media is constructed in terms of transcendental functions. Comb
ining this form of g(r) with well-known integral relations and a model pote
ntial that includes a weakly attractive component and a repulsive core yiel
ds integral forms for the equation of state and the energy equation for an
amorphous medium in terms of the interparticle potential of the given sampl
e. Appropriate choice of parameter values in our construct gives very good
agreement of g(r) with experiment for both liquid argon and liquid sodium.
