C. Zhang et W. Xu, Electronic states and dielectric response of a two-dimensional electron gas in a strong magnetic field and an intense laser field, PHYSICA B, 298(1-4), 2001, pp. 333-338
We have developed new theoretical and numerical methods to study electronic
properties and dielectric response of an electron gas strongly coupled to
a terahertz laser field and under a quantising magnetic field. By construct
ing successive unitary transformations, we have solved the time-dependent S
chrodinger equation and obtained analytical solutions of the electronic wav
efunction. These wavefunctions are then used to construct to electronic Gre
en's function, density-density correlation function and the dielectric resp
onse function in time and spectral representations. Our results can be the
basis for studying several other important quantities related to the experi
ments such as optical absorption, spectrum of magneto-polarizations and cyc
lotron resonances in strongly coupled electron-photon systems. Numerical re
sults of energy loss rate of a heavy particle based on this dielectric func
tion are presented. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
