We present the general theoretical study of the integral conductivity sigma
(eff) of a randomly inhomogeneous solid-state magnetized plasma valid to b
oth unbounded and bounded plasma. The sigma (eff) has also been studied in
laboratory experiments on p-Si plates placed into the strong magnetic field
. The experiments are based on the creation in the homogeneous semiconducto
rs of a stochastic distribution of the current carriers by the laser illumi
nation through the special masks. The plate placed in liquid He was chosen
as the study object. We used various masks to change the level of inhomogen
eity, the sizes, the forms and the distances between inclusions in a sample
. The obtained theoretical relations enable to define quantitatively a volu
me part of inclusions xi from dependency of the sigma (eff) on the applied
magnetic field. The experimentally determined quantity of the xi was found
to be close to the theoretically predicted value, (C) 2001 Elsevier Science
