Abstract
The principles entering into the selection of cryogenic systems for superco nducting magnet applications are reviewed. Types of refrigeration systems, operating temperature ranges and efficiency are all issues that must be eva luated in selecting the most appropriate cryogenic system. Specific example s of magnet systems currently under development are discussed in the contex t of these principles. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
