The flowering aerial parts of Centaurea bracteate Scop. (Asteraceae) have b
een studied for the: first rime. Nineteen compounds were isolated and ident
ified, namely a sterol glucoside, two phenolic acids, three quinic acid der
ivative es. and 13 flavonoids. two of which, art: new natural products. Str
uctural elucidation was performed mainly by mean of FABMS, 1D and 2D NMR sp
