Abstract
The influence of zinc on the activity of antioxidant enzymes in the blood o f rats intoxicated with lead was studied. Exposure to lead at the concentra tion of 500 mg/dm(3) for 6 weeks caused a decrease in the activities of SOD , GSH-P-x and GR as well as an increase in MDA concentrations in the serum. Zinc at the concentration of 60 mg/dm(3) administered for a period of 2 we eks after exposure to cadmium reduced the effects of toxic action of lead l eading to a normalization of the activities of SOD and GR in the blood as w ell as MDA concentration in the serum.
