Abstract
Results of X-ray backscattering studies on the Novillo tokamak using thermo luminescent dosimeters (TLDs) are presented. Dose measurements were carried out on the equatorial plane of the tokamak along 12 radial directions. The backscattering can be due to the interaction of the radiation with the sur rounding walls. Two kinds of phenomenological mathematical methods describi ng the X-ray backscattering were obtained from the experimental data and co mpared. Good agreement was found between the data and the predictions of th e models. (C) 2001 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
