The effect of uniaxial strain either along 11a, 11b', or 11c* on the spin d
ensity wave of (TMTSF)(2)PF6 was examined by resistivity measurement. It wa
s found that in all directions of strain, SDW was suppressed. The strongest
effect was by the strain 11a, then 11b' and 11c*. The striking effect was
by the c*-axis strain, which reduces the rho (c*) by 3 x 10(3) by similar t
o 10kb. Such strong reduction of resistivity was never observed by in organ
ic materials. The SDW mechanism is discussed with Fermi surface nesting and
band parameters.
