Abstract
Asymmetric non-reducing disaceharides containing an intel-glycosidic disulf ide linkage were synthesised tinder mild conditions through reaction of tet raacetyl-beta -D-glucopyranosyl methanethiolsulfonate with O-acetylated 1-t hio-aldopyranoses. The preferred conformation around the S S bond is close to that observed in unconstrained disulfides (-90 degrees). (C) 2001 Elsevi er Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
