Abstract
The applicability of the electrodiffusion method to the determination of ma ss-transfer coefficients in the channels of Bat-chamber membrane units is d iscussed. Experimental and theoretical results are compared. Both the simil arities and the differences between the equations describing the processes at permeable and impermeable surfaces are noted. The conditions for the app licability of the electrodiffusion method to the modeling of reverse osmosi s and ultrafiltration in the Bat channels of membrane units are ascertained .
