Abstract
Serial trends in echocardiographic and Doppler hemodynamic correlates of in creasing left atrial pressure may improve the ability to identify patients in whom AF is likely to develop. These trends are independent of age and ma y occur while the individual parameter absolute value remains within the no rmal range. If AF can be predicted, it may be possible to better monitor an d perfect treatment strategies.
